I was there at 7:20 to prep for the onslaught of making bread dough, and baking the 'rocks'. For our northern friends in Nebraska, these are Runza. We were going great guns, when we ran into a bad batch yeast and had one batch of dough that didn't want to rise, We let it sit for a long time thinking it would rise and didn't very much. We went ahead and used it and the 'rocks' ended up OK, but the wait put us behind and the batch we started after that, we ended up throwing out and started over, which, also put us behind. We ended up doing about 185 dozen. After cleanup and delivering what we had to, I got home about 5. My feet were tired, my back aching, but satisfied with what we got done. It was a good day weather-wise. low 30's at the start, partly cloudy, it warmed to the mid 40's. |
