Subject: Re: May tooth twenty-seventeen by TommyT-Bone on 2017/5/2 20:30:08 I have returned and notice there has been no shortage of topics around here. Weather, mechanical issues, body part issues, political/religious issues and so on. Mojo to all in need. I worked on the skid steer today on an issue the mechanic said was not responsible for the trouble. I just thought it was worth a shot. The oil level was a little too high. Small diesel engine had excess oil pressure so I drained the oil down to the correct level. Started the engine and the oil pressure light was off and the original problem of the engine throwing oil is now gone. WTF. We have had major situations with this rebuilt motor and went through 5 mechanics in the process. Before vacation I ordered a really hard to find new replacement engine for the skid steer. Should be here tomorrow. I got it for $3k and they sell for 5800. I got a good deal on the engine but it appears right now I won't need it. I told Sue to go balls to the wall on this motor because we have a backup when the need arises. No returns on the engine. It's ours, baby. Going to Boston in a little over a week. Next cruise in 6 weeks. ...... Ahhhhhhhh, all this pressure ...... This cruise was fun as usual. We slammed the casino for two straight days getting well ahead. Then Lady Luck took the casino's side and spanked us for three days straight. Two days minus three days equals minus 1 day. That's a negative balance and it was reflected in our losses. Oh well. There's always next time. (Gamblers are optimists.) Sue had a medical situation half way through that the medical unit onboard got under control. She now has an order for an ultrasound to get a look at a mass just under her rib cage. And the beat goes on, the beat goes on ......... |
