Re: SUNNY SUNDAY

Good evening CGs!

I had a day packed full of work from the early morning up until now.

First up was blowing out the sprinklers. That took about an hour. While I was doing that I was charging the battery in the wife's car which was dead overnight. Load tested it and it was bad. Figures. Good enough to start, but not trustworthy. It was dated 1/13, so that's 5 years of use. I ordered a new one from Advance and with coupons and reward bucks it cost me around $95 otd. No complaints there. I drove it to the parts store later in the day and changed it in the lot so that was one less trip.

About two weeks ago the wife drove on a freshly paved asphalt road. It literally covered the lower portion of the body 2" up with black tar/oil. What a PIA to get off. Lots of mineral spirits, rags and elbow grease. Got that sufficiently cleaned up. Took about 2 hours. Ran that over to the car wash for a little extra cleaning. It's presentable now, but the paint feels like crap. It needs a clay bar and a buff.

Got home from errands and cut the grass.

FIL brought his computer over and I had to fix a few things on there before dinner.

After dinner it was out to the garage to fix his Nissan Altima motor mount that I've been waiting on him for. It was supposed to be a 30 minute job...yeah, right. The nut on the bottom of the mount was seized on there and rounded out. Not much I could do. I eventually got it off, but total time was closer to an hour and a half. Road test was great, vibration is gone. The mount I took off was toast. Glad it's done.

Time to relax a bit.

Hope everyone had a great day!
