Freeze/frost is an expensive proposition in the nursery business. Looks like we dodged a bullet with the low reaching 40. A few degrees lower and it could have killed a number of plants. I went over at 05:00 AM and turned on the irrigation at the nurseries and here at the house nursery. The warmer ground waters will keep the plants happy till the temps go up later this morning. The temps will start to rise to more suitable levels. Knowing I was going to have that kind of night I went to bed at 09:00 PM. I'm glad I did. May jump back in bed for an early morning nap ..... because I can and because I don't want to be outside till after 10:00 anyway. Sue's alarm just went off. She'll be up an at em in no time now. My guess is the price is going to go up on orange juice futures. ;) |
