Subject: Re: Marcus's 56 210 Wagon The Tell of Tales by Ultraman on 2018/7/16 17:49:40 I have more shirts just like that one Tommy..... in fact I call it my Tommy Collection.... one must fit in..... Long day yesterday on the 101....saw some unbelievable vistas..... but any surfside town we went through had traffic backed up for a couple of miles..... I finally found the culprit....each little town has one traffic light and so that backs us up for miles......but between them was good driving....the 101 has slow lanes every 5 miles or so and that lets the fast movers get around the old Fiddysix with the Nebraska rubes rubbernecking the surroundings. But all that pales in comparison to when we hit the The 5 heading up to Seattle....where we crossed at Longview.....after driving on Highway 30....the Lincoln Highway...and crossing the river on a big dam bridge to get into Washington.... Then it was bumper to bumper riding side by side 3 wide....Old Nell was moving and a grooving but she's real comfortable at around 65..... even though this car has been thoroughly cared for and modernized its still a 1950's station wagon... hmmm....maybe a tube frame and coil overs will make that work a bit better.... Reactions to the car have been continuous...my wife says it a happy car because everyone is smiling and laughing and asking questions or telling about that's just like the one their parents had when they were young.....honking cars with thumbs up, folks wanting to take pics in front of it..... everywhere we go..... I am surprised at how many young folks like it.... One gal who was filling our tank in Oregon.....yes it is still the law up there.....said that the car was her dream car.....I said well work hard and maybe you can get one one day...... I don't know how to drive she said......she's like in her mid twenty's I would guess...... Anyway in Seattle for a couple of days then the adventure continues.... |
