Subject: Re: 16 JULY 18 by TommyT-Bone on 2018/7/16 13:01:24 Being a true curmudgeon at heart I always have a tale of whoa, complaint or aggravation beckoning at my doorstep. Today is no different. After a good days work lodging a full press ant assault and washing the truck fleet I meandered into the abode thinking I might have only a couple of pond related tasks to engage then call it a day. What was I thinking? Standing up a fallen mangrove tree that had fallen off it's perch proved to be daunting. The tree had grown considerably since I last moved it. The branches were soaked. Attempting to right the tree proved to be an impossible task weighing heavily on my already aching back. Sue trimmed the tree and I threw the branches out of the pond. We got the tree to a manageable state where we righted it, secured it and now there was a considerable mess of debris from the pot and leaves from the cutting spread across the pond. Cleaned up as much of the mess as possible. This job I thought would take but a few minutes turned into an hour and a half. Still, there was another job in the pond that needed attention. The mermaid fountain had a couple of plugged outlets. A half hour of flushing and cleaning the lines brought her back to maiden form. Finally we could wrap up and call it a day. Sue asked me 'Why do you have to get so Grumpy?" I told her it might have something to do with working so late on a Sunday. She quipped "Well we got a lot of things done." Well, that we did. Stay turned for part II |
