Just really getting into the swing of things when my phone rings and I see it is one of my former colleagues (now HS principal). When I answer he says there is a guy there at the school looking for me and says he is a former class of mine. I ask the name, and sure enough it was a guy I was friends with back in 3rd through 8th grades (until I moved to central Kansas, because of my dad getting a different teaching job). Had actually caught up with him about 11 years ago, but then haven't heard from him since. He came by the house and we caught up again, but this really put a big cramp in what I had intended to get done this afternoon. So I worked into the evening trying to make up. It stayed pretty cool all day, high reached 69. |
