Got over to the course and there were a bunch of high school kids....good thing I got there as early as I did, as we were able to go off in front of them. But I was teamed up with a couple locals.....I went over to introduce myself and I heard them tell the starter that they didn’t want to play with that guy...well, FU too. So the starter sent me off by myself behind a lady who also wanted to play by herself....and played REALLY slow. Oh well, it gave me some time to walk the roughs and collect balls. And I was striking the ball really well. Couldn’t putt, but scored reasonably well and shot a 41 (par 36). Got back to the clubhouse and went inside to give the lady some room in front of us. While we were waiting to tee off and a couple came up and said they were supposed to follow us and I invited them to play with me. I said “the lady in front of us was playing really slow”, so they may as well play along with me. That slowed me down enough that we weren’t pushing or waiting too much. Back nine I shot a 44, I’m tickled pink with 85. Acclimated for sure now. Rosie headed to the Rec center after having lunch....I’m thinking it might be time for a nap.  |
