Sunday Chat 10.14.18

Subject: Sunday Chat 10.14.18

Good Morning CGs!

Friday night when I was driving home from work my low coolant warning light came on. Weird. That will happen pretty often/commonly if you had just refilled the cooling system because it gets air pockets. But I haven't touched the cooling system in probably 2 years. So that's not a good sign. Had to be a leak somewhere. I had a chance to look at it Saturday morning. I opened the radiator cap and saw the fluid level was down about an inch from where it should be. Got out the pressure tester and it was holding 14 PSI no problem. Visually the radiator cap looked okay but I hooked it up to the pressure tester with the adapter and it failed immediately. So it seems the cap has been bad for a little while and has been weeping although I didn't smell anything. I told my buddy it's a good thing I have $35,000 worth of specialty tools to diagnose a bad $12 radiator cap. I'll pick up a new cap when I get a chance. I'm getting ready to put the car in storage for the winter anyway.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
