The employees must first pass a background check to gain access to the property. Sue went about 6 months ago and ICE showed up and took one of her employees to detention. He's still in there. Today Sue took a couple of guys that said they had clean records. Aannnnnk! Wrong answer. One had a domestic violence charge back in 1994 and paid his penance. The other had a petty theft arrest but no conviction. They turned the first one away. I had to go pick him up. The second one they reluctantly let in. So, Sue gets to work short handed with 1 guy instead of 2. She got a number of responses to my recent Craigslist ad for employees. Many applied even though they had records or no drivers license. I stipulated that in the ad. Clean record and drivers license. The reason she wanted clean records is so she could work in this place. Never ends. Where are the people that want to work. Don't any mothers tell their children that a record will stay with you for the rest of your life anymore. Oh well, my day continues. I'm making a ravioli lasagna for dinner, picking up around the house and other this and that kinda stuff. |
