I miss that America. Believe it or not I was against the war but pro military. I would serve my country if called upon. I got a draft card # but it was withdrawn with the beginning of the all volunteer force in 1973. I volunteered in Nov. 1973 and had orders to Thailand where the B-52's were loaded and sent to deliver their payload. My orders were cancelled and I was sent to Ramstein A.B. Germany where we were a drop off for the Southeast Asian munitions being sent to other places around the world. My job was part of the evacuation effort. I was there for the end of the conflict. |
