Looks like everyone had a happy 4th. Quiet around our house in the afternoon finally. The dude came and picked up his '52 Chevy (extended cab) truck. Why he insisted it be on a holiday is beyond me as we could've gone somewhere. Bf stayed in pool with a beer all day. It was uncommonly hot here yesterday, rain due next couple days.
I don't know if you guys have an outfit there called John 3:16 but don't buy one of their 'charity auction vehicles'. This one was and it's a PIECE. He bought it a mess, (he don't know any better), for a high price. It ended up having to be unmessed at a friend's hot rod shop. The dude then rushed them, griped and caused issues so they didn't leave on good terms. On to another shop for some stuff, then he wants a cam installed. And we ended up with it. Was way more work than it should've been. The engine is from a '78 and apparently the 'reforms' didn't even bother to look in there - was full of antifreeze the color of engine oil. Nasty. Had no thermostat, etc. The dude spent $2500 on parts for our install which ended up running $650. He even brought the wrong stuff and ARron's only day off got spent Sunday running all over the next town over to swap out and get needed parts.
Not sure how you guys feel about those groups - but this one takes meth addicts and introduces them to religion - not bad , then they go on to put them into body building, engine work, car wraps like I do, etc, and sell their produtcs. Mind you they get the luxury of evading taxes like the rest of us legitimate businesses all the while turning out junk. This isn't the first "classic" they've "redone" and sold .
Quiet at our house otherwise, sandwiches for the holiday, just too freakin' hot to cook inside or out.
In other news, the loud truck scared the dog, she ran from the shop and was gone all night. I ended up retrieving her in my Vette the next morning muddy and stinky. Arron gets to clean my car now. And probably the house since she's shedding horribly and I have a white couch that's now covered in black dog hair. Thinkin' I'll burn the couch.
