Short cruise has ended. Left on Monday. Back on Friday. Got off the ship by 08:30 and was home by 09:30. Sue was back to work by 10:30. I'm putting the luggage away and doing laundry plus associated return tasks. New Years Eve was great on the cruise. The whole casino shut down around 10 till and we all watched the countdown on TV. Afterward we went back to the poker table and continued in the revelry. Knew some of the casino staff from previous cruises. We did alright the first couple of days then went into a slide spiraling downward. Stayed within budget so all is good. pain in the ass going through Customs with cigarettes. They always make a big deal about it. If you declare it they are supposed to charge a tax of $10 per carton for anything over one carton. It's a bother for most of them so they usually just let you pass and usually go on about you are only allowed one carton per person. Ya, one carton and pay the tax for any additional. I feel like throwing the cartons overboard as sort of a tax rebellion but that would only be hurting my wallet. On the ship they want to sell you duty free stuff. On land they want to bitch about you buying it because they're supposed to collect the duty on any over some minimal amount they allow. Vulcan bullspit. All these laws pushed through by corporate America to protect their profits and of course the government can't help but collect a nice sin tax. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program. Hah. The new year has hardly begun and I've got my briefs in a twist already.
