Sue has to be at the outpatient surgical unit for eyelid surgery tomorrow the 13th. The doctor originally requested a procedure that was denied by the insurance company. The doctor and Sue requested a review and the the approval came back. It was two hours AFTER Sue had her eye lid surgery. So on the 13th I'll be taking Sue in for yet another surgery. She had nerve damage to the left side of her face back in the 1989 accident, her right eyelid only partially closes. They want to put in a gold weight to aid her lid in closing some. The last surgery they cut and pulled skin around the eye because she was losing her peripheral vision. This will be her 89th surgery. You read that right. 89th surgery over her lifetime. I've been through about 84 of them. Her foot has still not fully healed. The eye doctor was pulling stitches out of her head from her December eye surgery earlier this week. Sue goes through so much and a terrible amount of pain. Sue usually waits until something is intolerable before she seeks surgical relief. Can't say I blame her. It's been a long tough row to hoe ... for both of us. |
