Re: TUESDAY 24 MARCH

Hey guys...up and around early again and to the church hall. Finished up the paneling and everything else until the doors and trim come in...maybe Monday.

We got a nice shower last night, not sure how much as we don't have the gauge out yet, but guessing about 1/2 to 3/4".

I had to stop work this morning and go donate blood. It was supposed to be at the high school, but with the schools closed they moved it to a local church. I wasn't sure they were even going to let me give due to my visit to the KC area last week, but that wasn't an issue.

Came home and put tools away and cleaned the shop. I'll start on a bench for a lady tomorrow.

Gris, I would probably spray lacquer on the stock. But your choice of Truoil is a good one. Tung oil is ok as well, but, if you can find Watco Danish Oil finish, that is what I would use...I've used a lot of Watco over the years. Is the stock Walnut or something else? With the Watco, You basically saturate the wood and keep applying it as the wood develops dry spots and keep it dampish, for 45 minutes to an hour. Then wipe it dry and let it sit 18-24 hours, then repeat for two or three days. Each day it will take less and less oil and gain a nice 'glow'. Like any oil finish, just reapply as needed over the years. Watco comes in several colors as well as a "natural" finish. Be careful with the rags you use, saturated rags can spontaneously combust ..... ask me how I know it can happen.

Nice looking C8 there Letty. I'm with Marc on this battery thing, I just went to the dealer and got an AC/Delco Professional replacement.
