Got up about 8 and by 8:30 was out the door down to the neighbors' house to help him load up some stuff on a trailer that he is taking to their mountain cabin in New Mexico. By the time I was done there it was time for me to go to the house where I was installing the balustrade. Applied some painters caulk and installed the top handrail. then cut the bottom rails to fit. Then did the math to figure the spacing of the balusters. Back to the shop to drill the holes for the dowels on the bottom of the balusters. Take it all back and get the balusters installed. GS #3 helping me. It has been a really nice day, a bit breezy, but mid 70s for a high. I hope your day has been a good one, John. Marcus, that's more than enough power to get you in trouble. We grew up poor too....I never realized it, because, like Tommy and Marcus, we had clothes on our back and food on the table. But frills were never around. Looking back, yea I can see it, but I never let it affect me. Yes, we want more for our kids than what we had, our kids have had to work for what they have received. Rosie and I have done OK for ourselves, due to hard work, making good choices (mostly), and being very lucky. There were times we didn't have money in the bank and big bills hit us, we just had to figure it out...... Today, I wouldn't classify us as extremely rich (financially...spiritually yes), but we have reasonable retirements and will be OK. |
