Subject: Re: It's Mon Day again by TommyT-Bone on 2020/7/27 13:38:13 MIL and FIL met with the doctors yesterday. Wednesday is the target surgery day. They have to open her up. With this surgery that means cutting the sternum and spreading the rib cage for access. My mom had that done when she was 68. After that surgery she said "Do not let them ever do that again."That reflects how much pain she endured in recovering from the surgery. Survived my first week without cigarettes. I think of my mentors telling me how they quit and of course our good friend Brad. Then I feel my lungs breathing and I say to myself "Does that feel good to you? Do you want to breathe when you get older." That and a chew of nicotine gum has been pulling me through. Having quit drinking years ago I know the discipline you MUST apply if you hope to succeed. If I succeed in quitting cigarettes I will then be without sin and apply for sainthood in one God fearing organization or another. |
