Damned weatherman. So .... the mother board on my garage door opener got fried in a power outage. So I ordered a new board and wall switch because my old one was not compatible. Got it all in and went to test it and the chain went loose and came off the sprocket. The unit is 9 years old so I guess some parts will fail. Turns out a rubber spacer on the wall side of the track disintegrated.I did not want to take the track off but after wasting too much time on a work around I found a suitable spacer and disassembled that side of the track, put in the new spacer and all was well after a couple of adjustments. Now that everything was hooked up right I got the wall switch programmed and programmed 4 remotes All is working again on the garage door. On to the next project. |
