Friend from down the street came down and wanted to work on the 'coffee bar' pump organ they brought back and dropped here for me to convert. He's been over applying the stain and finish. We needed to turn some "bun feet" to raise the thing up a bit (about 3")....he acted like he wanted to do the turning, but he hasn't done any turning since he was like a sophomore in high school ... and he's a year older than I am. So I let him do the rough turning, after some quick instruction. Then turned four buns and to finials. After I got them turned, he stained and finished them. Thiss 'detour' kept me from getting a lot done on the door, but I still got the mortises and tenons cut on the stiles and rails. I've fired up the pellet grill and will grill a couple KC strip steaks for supper. |
