The other day I read of what had become of the disciples after the death of Christ. Real people whose theological footprints are still evident today in the regions they preached and beyond. Many think that God, Christ and the Holy Spirit are fairy tale characters. If you have ever had a Christian spiritual experience, you know the depths of what a man or woman might endure and not renounce their faith. These are not necessarily Godless times but a time when many shun organized religion. Back to the commercial Christmas. Jump in the sleigh and load it up with gifts with little or no heartfelt meaning. Jewelry, new cars, video games, the latest technology, gift cards, fruit cakes and the list goes on. Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus Lane. In my childhood home you got underwear and socks for Christmas.  Anyway. Have a glorious Christmas Day or just another Saturday for those that choose. Christmas Eve casino update. We played, had dinner, then played some more. Outcome for the night was a modest $200 on the upside. Up is good. |
