Yep, four years of decent winters and here come Biden and Hell freezes over. Seems only fair since they blamed Trump for hurricanes.
Oh well, more snow on the way here, second storm of it today and third later on into Thursday. We are due a total of 8-14 on top of what we already have. This isn't normal for us. And, to top it all off the power companies here started rolling blackouts. Trying to make residents feel bad claiming we aren't doing our part yet energy hogging factories were running normal. Public outcry led to the gas and electric companies shutting them down. One steel place here willingly shut down the day before for that very reason, they tried to do their part, the rest of them had to be forced to. Plus one was issuing "points" to employees who could not make it to work for which I think they need a couple of million dollar fines and that shit would stop. People can't get out in the stuff here, our road departments do not have equipment like northern states to deal with this. It's simply not in the budget for something we might get every few years. Our cold temps haven't been this low since '80.Later claims from other outlets was that it was power sharing due to a large Arkansas supplier going down and to help Texas. Which, raises the question, if the "grid" is all connected as they say then why does City Water and Light have cheap light bills and my Craighead Electric is four times that if it's all coming from the same place.
Anyway it was only out an hour and id' rather have that than be out for days. But, that kinda stuff isn't good for electronics and appliances that sometimes don't come back on. Plus, with these temps we risk our pool pumps and lines freezing and that would be thousands also. Lives matter more but still would have been nice had they give people a warning and not just shut people off late at night. That lack of notice and businesses and factories being allowed to run when people on oxygen, etc had to do without is what pissed everyone off. Try to stay warm everybody, I'll be working from home today if there's any to do at all.
