I guess I shouldn't complain. I did California and Streets of Willow in December, Willow was a looooong day. I even skipped my last run group.
Yea, any same day drive back from the track is a bitch. Driving back from Laguna on a Sunday nite damn near kills me, 6 1/2 hrs. All of my races are a min of 4 hour tows but fortunately I'm at the track for 3 days and only have to drive one leg per day. ThunderHill and Sears Point are 4 , Laguna is 6 1/2, Buttonwillow, Vagas and Willow are 8 1/2. Portland is a real bitch at 12 1/2 so I've only done that 3 times.
I am lucky though, my test track, Reno-Fernley is 35 minutes.
