Stopped at a gas station about 2 1/2 hours away from home. I got out to fill the tank, had phone in hand. Set it on the tonneau cover as I put the nozzle in the fill spout. Finished filling the tank, jumped in the pickup and headed out. 20 miles down the road (next bigger town) and stopped again for a taco. When we came out and got in the pickup, Rosie says "Where's your phone?" It wasn't where I normally keep it ..... OH, SHIT, I left it in the tonneau cover.... I thought, "It could be anywhere between here and where I put gas in......it's GONE. So we headed on down the road, thinking, "We'll have to stop in the 'city' and get me a new one." I still owe a year worth on this one, oh well, I can't do without a phone. So we are now about an hour west of where I got gas. Rosie's phone starts ringing...."Hello, yes that's my husbands phone. I'll let you talk to him." "Yea, we found your phone laying on the highway and figured you'd want it back." Me: "I'm an hour away.... so, is it even worth coming back for?" "It's got some scratches on the bottom, but the screen isn't broke, I could easily read the home screen where it said to call this number." "OK, I'm headed back to you right now." When I get back, I'm surprised how well it survived. I think all that is broke is the screen saver. It works as it should. MIRACLES do happen. My screen when the phone turns on The damage |
