Good morning
Sunny here today and warming up. Winter starts which means days have more daylight but temps will drop more through January and February. Glad you had a nice trip Tommy.
Hoping we get lucky with a mild winter this year but there's a spoon in the persimmon seed they say. Tonight I need to run by the nursing home and check on things, have had some things said to me that have me worried. I know they had 35 extra people tossed into the mix with the same amount of staff so I expect some jacked up stuff for a week or two - however - I still expect her to be showered, tended to, and the works. 5 staff from Trumann transferred there and quit after 2 days claiming they didn't like how the Trumann residents were treated. Well hell, give them a minute. But then was also told Trumann staff were promised raises they didn't get. After 2 days. Again, give em time. And if you're so concerned with residents, why not stay and fix it? Anyway, if I move her it will be after the first of the year after stuff settles down. The staff have gone to another place here in town that she has been to before and not treated well. They have new owners and allegedly have a focus on memory care and such so might go back since it's all new. It's closer for me on the way home that where she is now.
Tommy - yes they can rebuild, unfortunately it hit the poorest part of town where most people rent so they just have to find somewhere else to live. One dude that owns one of these destroyed houses has been having his secretary pester the shit out of the now homeless one for rent money. On a house that isn't there. All kinds stories coming out.
Marcus - advance warnings were good for the most part but we had 7 or 8 tornadoes and supposedly ours was a last minute spin up, then I heard of it coming from two towns over - but that's still not much time. Sirens went off then they stopped right before it hit. Supposeldy system appeared to be weakening. We have one of the best weather teams in the country here and they made sure to get folks ready just in case. There were two together next town over and I saw those myself out my front yard.
Tee - most people here do not have basements, water table is too high. Inground pools will have a liner float sometimes even, ours has and we've installed a behind the wall pump system to siphon water out to avoid it. In Jonesboro, about 15 miles up the road, a lot of those homes have basements, but older homes often leak.
Gris our speed limit here just went to 75 recently. I'm in for abourt 80 and the rest can go on by. cops don't bother me and I can get on down the road. I try to travel with a pack when I can. Or, here I'll take the "old" highway in lieu of the bypass. I get home in about the same amount of time or sooner unless I get behind a derp going 42 in a 55.
