With eggs and buttered toast you have a great start to the day. My granny used to make gramps breakfast every morning as he poured over the morning paper. Simpler times. He didn't have a lot to do. I remember he had a push lawn mower (no motor). Granny went to church every morning at 06:00 AM then came home and made breakfast. She looked forward to watching "her stories", the soap operas, in the afternoon. Gramps wisely took that time to take a daily afternoon nap. He was a retired Boston Police officer. Met granny on his beat in Jamaica Plain in the 1920's. Had 4 kids. John Jr, my dad, James, Joseph and daughter Joanne, my aunts and uncles. ............... And I pulled that all from the mention of bacon.  |
