"Buyer" sends a bogus check, usually for more than the sale amount. Buyer says take extra and give to transport guy for expenses.

Seller deposits check, takes extra money out of their account and gives car and money to transporter.

Check bounces a week later, seller is out car and the money they took out as "overage" payment.

Buyer gets car, makes fake title from a different state, sells car.
