Jumped out of bed, but really didn't get motivated to kick it in gear. Finally got out to the shop and sprayed some finish and then Father needed help mounting a TV on the wall so ran over there to help him while the lacquer dried. Came home and ate lunch and flipped the pieces and started spraying the other side. Ran some errands and put the chest together. It is for our local pheasant hunting non-profit org as an auction item to raise money. Pics really don't do it justice. It's built from lumber I bought from the mother of a former student, that her husband had bounght 25-40 years ago and has sat in the storage shed since his passing 20+ years ago. It's a pine that has what is called 'blue stain" caused by a fungus. I decided not to try and cover the natural stain, but emphasis it with the clear finish. I think it is a great look. |
