The entire area is like a bowl. Everglades is to the west and the drainage canals can back up. Nowhere for the water to go except to let the drainage canals do their job. The only option would be to raise the entire property. Not worth the expense for the rare flooding issue. 4 or 5 times the water has risen to the high point but my house stays dry. Garage and two back sheds get 4-6 inches of water but it drains after a day or two. Just a PITA. |
