Subject: Re: SATURDAY 26 NOVEMBER by TommyT-Bone on 2022/11/26 17:33:24 When we went to Thanksgiving dinner a friend of my FIL's had a 57 T-bird that went though a frame off restortion 31 years ago. The owner spent 30k on the restoration then. It's in absolutely great shape and is loaded with options including both hard and soft top and A/C with a 312 V-8 under the hood. He's asking 55K. Sue asked me if I would be willing to part with a few cars to pick that one up and I declined. I told her if I was going to spend that much on a 57 I'd rather have a new Corvette. She responded, "Really?" Doing the same thing basically. Sell our 83, 90, 91 and the 79 and keep Sue's 87 911. I'd be game for that. Some of the local dealers are now selling Corvettes at MSRP when you order it. The Suburban, Silverado and S-10 would stay. We use all of them frequently. Anyway, that's some food for thought. One guy stopped and chatted with us while we were outside and he had a 2023 Corvette he picked up 2 weeks ago. It had 189 miles on it. On the front fenders there is a noticable "70". 70th anniversary of the Corvette. Nice. |
