Took two of the Camaro rims off and brought them to discount tire yesterday to get remounted and balanced to fix a bead leak. One of the problems with older chrome rims is they will flake or corrode and it doesn't seal correctly. So the guy redid the one and said it might still leak a little but it's better. Then he showed me a nice crack in the second rim. Wonderful. These rims are pretty rare and hard to find so luckily I was able to take it to a local guy that does alloy rim welding and he said he could fix it no problem. He just called me to say it's ready. So at least I lucked out on that. Normal price is $160 but he's a friend of a friend so he's doing it for half. All these cars take is time money and patience right? Hope everyone has a great day! |
