Re: 2 April 2023

Sunny and mild this morning, 48 now headed to mid 70s. Wind was brisk yesterday evening.

Not much going on, but we found that the local car group (over in the 'city') was having a "cruise in", so we headed over after church. The cruise in was quite successful, probably 50 cars showed up. James ran well, for the first time out this year. Met a guy there who came up and starting asking about James, he really liked the Atomic Orange paint. Once we started talking I found out he had owned an 05 and an 08. He belongs to a Corvette club in a town about 2 1/2 hours away and about 2 years ago, he bought a 17 that a member of that club traded in... with 3000 miles on it....It has almost 40k now. I asked him if he drove it ib to the cruise in, no I drove my 34 Ford coupe. "Is that black 34 yours? Let's go look at it." Then he tells me how he 'drive it'...Yea, he drives it. He's a crew member on a Bonneville Salt flat team out of that same town where the Corvette club is, and, he drove the 34 to Bonneville 2 years ago and shows me pictures. He also tells me about the 60 Corvette he had when he got drafted in 67 and that his wife drove while he was in Nam. When he got back, he tried to sell it and no one would give him $1500 for it.... so he kept it.... still has it. We kind of hit it off and agreed to try and get together again.

Well, I need to get something done. Have a great day.
