I got the old factory exhaust gasket installed and tested on the "easy" (passenger) side last night - seems to work very well. The Mr. Gasket copper gaskets I had tried were awful - really bad leaks at the bottom of each port. I have the other one in place, just need to button it all back up again. The more I work on this car, the more I marvel at the devious nature of Corvette engineers. Thoughtful little booby traps everywhere, like the too-long stud that is used to hold the fuel lines to the heater box near the passenger side head - easy to gash yourself anytime you reach in there to do anything. Actually "reach" is more like "contort your body into unnatural positions" :-P |
