I am not quite sure how pumping the brake could bleed the clutch system. Even if you ran the hose across I dont see that happening. You would need reverse pressure to bleed it not positive pressure. If you do it the way you suggest you would be forceing fluid into the clutch slave all the way back into the master. I would assume that would let more air in then force it out. The way I bled mine was have someone else in the car and disconnect the slave from the bell then bleed it a few times in differant directions while holding it. I would work out almost all the air that way, just keep an eye on the master as the fluid flows quickly when pumping.
