Thanks to the neighbors, yard looks great.

Subject: Thanks to the neighbors, yard looks great.

We have some neighbors with whom we have what I consider
to be an ideal relationship. While we exchange pleasantries
and help each other out when things come up, generally we
each go about our business independent of the other and
don't spend a lot of time on one another's patio.

Well, they held a backyard wedding for their first born today.

Knowing that the wedding was approaching, I caught up on
routine yard work and added some extra brushing around the
perimeter. Put some things away and built a lattice fence
to obscure work in progress on a shed.

It made for a nice improvement but didn't take care of every
detail. Call it a twenty-footer, squint and everything looks
fine. All in all, I was content that I'd done my part to help.

This morning I look outside to see that someone at the
neighbor's place had set up the guest chairs - they were
all facing our house.

I am sure it was a classic case of myopia, all they could
see were the trees along the property line that would
nicely frame the ceremony - failing to notice the pile of
project lumber and off-cuts in the background that would
stand out prominently in the photos if it remained there.

Some hours later, the view was improved.

Wedding has gone off smoothly. Guests have eaten and now
I hear the band playing - time to go enjoy the entertainment.
