Your repair costs seem quite reasonable to me.

Did you have a chance yet to spend some time detailing your engine compartment?

Owner was surprised at the repair costs also. Adjuster was expecting a total. Actually, I was figuring more, considering three years ago I knocked the front end of it off with the help of a concrete light pole pillar and the front end work alone cost that much then. Parts are cheaper now. But, the more stuff he pulled off, the more broke stuff we found. Actually, post-accident, the car looked like it took it well from the outside - till you got up close LOL. Also, a 'botched' repair job by the previous shop 3 years ago might have led to the failure of some of the other parts. The car is here now: www.donparkerbodyshop.com. Vettes are what he does most.

Was not able to work on engine either, owner went to Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend and was not at the shop. I've never detailed - much less cleaned, period - an engine. I'd rather eat a bug than clean a car. Panned to use Simple Green, then some engine detail spray. Can't find CD-2 here though but have been told about something similar. Being on my 3rd opti, I'm not about to squirt water under there :thumbright: Any suggestions would be appreciated

Also, found a thread elsewhere illustrating how to redo a 'glass' top. That will also be next on the list. More than happy to share the link if anyone is interested.
