Subject: Re: [yt] Vintage onboard by bogus on 2008/10/26 19:39:54 Some of you may remember this, but a year ago, April, bastet and I went to the Lynnwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood. This theater is at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences HQ (you know, the Oscars people!). They were offering a special series on movies that had won for sound and film editing. The first film was Grand Prix. It was a brand new 65mm Cinerama print, off the original Warner Bros negative. No surround sound, either! The original 6 track stereo! Who needs Hi-Def??? Can you say IMPRESSIVE? It was quite the experience. The screen at the Dunn theater is huge; it's not one of these dinky multiplex things. Oh, and the tix were only $5.00 each. |
