Subject: Re: Where Were You In 1985? by teebee on 2009/8/18 18:58:07 I too turned 30, been married 10 years, and was working at my first (and only) teaching job (5th and 6th years). We started building the house that we currently live in. And when I say we were building it, that exactly what I meant. I was teaching a carpentry class at the time and with 5 students we started building the house at the beginning of the 85-86 school year. The basement was dug September 17 and we moved in May 9th 1986. Quite a house for five high school kids and a teacher to take on. 3500 sq ft (including the basement) two story house with attached two car garage. It was a truly hectic year. I am still at the same teaching position (we don't have the carpentry program any more) and I am eligible for retirement at the end of this school year. |
