Re: Hey Central - you ever review a C5?

Curtis pretty much echoed my opinion. I've driven a few, driven a couple on the track. I've also spent many hours instructing in them, probably 30 different ones.

I'm not much of a fan of the standard C5. I really don't like the seats. And I much prefer the cockpit feeling of the C4,3,2.

They do have better brakes and they're much more forgiving on the track for most drivers. If you push one on the track, you'll quickly notice areas that need improvement.

If I had to drive cross country, I really couldn't pick a C5 over a C4. Both would make me smile, I have driven my C4 6 1/2 hours w/o stopping and felt great at the end.

I did have a chance to drive a modded 03 Z06 at the track. I had a guy hire me for 2 days of private coaching that had Penske/coilovers, full cage, Sparco seats and big brakes.
Big, big difference, much more stable, easier for a novice driver to correct the slides, etc. A very nice car.

I wouldn't really want a C5 unless it was a Z06, CC's post on pricing has me thinkin' again.
A perfect one was just sold here, older driver, never run hard, 03 with 34,000, garage kept, mint. $18k.
