Probably 75% is maintenance, 25% improvements. I guess the trick is knowing your limitations, and keeping the car looking nice. For example, I haven't gotten the car painted, and it looks like ass. This makes it somewhat depressing to own and spend time on. I have some of the tools to try painting it, but my limitations are a paintbooth and time/motivation. Had I spent $5K on that 2 years ago I would not have regretted it, and I'd feel better about doing other work on the car.

At least it doesn't rust.
