Well ... of course everything works ... and there is that new Corvette smell ... the normal new interior smell but also that vague smell of performance and comfort ... strong smell of leather and a whiff of premium gas and expensive metals and the outgassing of medium quality plastics (where GM thinks we won't notice) ... either fob in the car means that the start button glows green ... start it and the trick exhaust is wide open for about a second and than closes ... the car wakes up like it's alive - so much electronics ... CORVETTE BY CHEVROLET moves in script across the Drivers Information Center ... big CORVETTE logo on the navigation, in case you forget what kind of car you are driving ... there's that classic slightly uneven engine rumble (1, 8, 7, 2, 6, 5, 4, 3 if you must know), a little smoother than before but still there (wouldn't want to be without that) ... seatbelts on and back out slowly - the effortless power actually makes reverse a little sketchy (should you have two reverse gears?) ... Xenon headlights with projector beam lenses are on because Twilight Sentinel says so ... off into the early morning darkness |
