Geez ... I guess I should quit whining about my 90K C5......

We don't have anything that's even at 90k:

2004 Jaguar - 76k
1985 Corvette - 72k
2003 Corvette - 42k
2012 Corvette - 9k

hm... lightweights...

I bought my 92 in June 2000. It had 39xxx on it then. At the time, I lived near Dover and worked in Wilmington, DE. That was 50 miles one way; 500 miles a week! I did that for another 15 months. Add in four trips to FL, another 8k miles and a few other events and places and the miles add up.

Here in CA, I worked in Pasadena and then Irwindale for a year. That was either 75 or 100 miles a-day and that adds up, too. My current commute is about 13 miles one way, or 26 a day. Not bad... and it's quick. The 110 freeway is usually pretty ok for me. I get on the 91 freeway and my time on it is so quick... I can get to work in 15 minutes barring any incidence on the freeway. I prefer to leave earlier, of course, but if I am behind, I know I can make it in 15.

And since the vibrations and shudders have all gone away, the Vette hasn't felt this good in EONS! It is sooo smooth (the new tires are real quiet!) and just glides over the pavement. One day last week, I actually hit 90 and it felt like it used to. Amazing.

A co-worker has a newer Saturn Sky Turbo, quick little buggers and 2 weeks ago I was trying to pass him on the access road to our building when I got hit with one of those "misses"... yea, that takes the edge off!

I then tried to recover, only to get hit again! The Saturn ate me...

This past week... no more misses... heh heh heh... the old girl still has some balls... Ate that Saturn and spit it out. I launch very gently, always have, but really have to thanks to the crappy pavement... but that torque got traction and he was in my tail light. He only passed me when I let up to clear a vehicle parked on the shoulder.
