As much as we lambast the Pinto, how many still exist? It's a piece of [bad] history. Hell, even AMC Pacers are showing signs of collectibility.

In short, anything that survives becomes a snap shot of the time it was built. That makes it valuable. Just because something was mass produced (tens of thousands) doesn't mean they all die... And those left are rare. It's reason #1 why muscle cars became so damned valuable.

It's also why a car like j3studio's '85 is a future cash cow. Sure, the C4 was very mass produced - some 360k - but how many are still that original? How many have the appropriate awards? That is how it works...
