Soda Blasting

Subject: Soda Blasting
by BillH on 2011/11/25 20:24:15

So, since I never do normal shit.

The rear end on the C2 has light to medimum rust. I really don't want to glass bead it cause that finish is quite a bit different from "as cast".

Last month I spent a wopping $14 on a hand held sandblaster from HF to do a crossmember that wouldn't fit in the glass bead cabinet.

I've been thinkin about adding a soda blast bin to the cabinet.

So, today I decided WTF and dumped half a box of Arm & Hammer in the HF blaster.
It worked! It took light rust off a small part and didn't leave the rougher surface like the glass does.

Guess I'll go to HF and buy 50 lbs of soda this week.
