Getting Judged For The First Time In Over Five Years

Subject: Getting Judged For The First Time In Over Five Years

(C4 Factory Restoration is unhappy—won't let me post there)

Thanks for all the good wishes, folks.

I have done a decent, but not great job of prepping Lauren. The battery has even better labels—now actually vinyl and probably about as correct as a non-original Delco Freedom can be. I dropped the original spare, inflated it, and cleaned out a lot of dust from the Lincoln Highway. The engine bay looks okay and the wheels are as good as they can be without sending them back to Wheel Collision. The lighter works, sort of—I have to hold it in. The rest of the interior is what it is.

I am now properly tense. so I'm trying to relax. The car is 95% packed. I'll get up at 5:15 AM tomorrow, with the goal being to leave at 6:00 AM and arrive at County Corvette around 6:30 AM. I'll get the operations check done as soon as possible, so I can stage the car inside and judge some of the other operations checks—we're expecting about 25 cars (huge for a chapter meet—some regional meets aren't as big). When that's done, I'll go back to the car and obsessively clean until the owner's meeting at around 8:15 AM. Then, sit tight until the judges get going—I'm hoping for at least a 2nd Flight as I haven't tried to actually fix anything; I'm looking for calibration more than anything else.
