RE:Roller Rockers mfg?

Subject: RE:Roller Rockers mfg?
by dan0617 on 2008/2/8 18:07:08

I have summit 1.6 rockers on my L98 engine. I have had good luck with them. I actually didn't know I had to remove the drip tabs from the valve covers when I installed them. The drip tabs broke off and wedged between the rocker nut and the top of the rocker arm slot. When I fired it up it instantly bent all of my pushrods (some of them really bad, kind of like a big fishing hook) and 1/2 of my rocker studs. A few of the pushrods were so bad I almost couldn't get them up out of the heads. I bent the studs back straight, put in new pushrods, and cleaned the pieces of aluminum out of the heads. There are a few little nicks on the rockers where the drip tabs got pinched, other than that they are as good as new. I can't believe none of them broke. I also can't believe none of the lifters got trashed.
