I do not fit into the driver's seat of a 1957 or prior—the problem is the length of my legs and the steering wheel. From 1958, each year gets slightly better, as Chevrolet messed with the seats/seat position, the transmission tunnel, and the overall width.

The issue with the 1957 makes me sad, because I think it is the most perfect and elemental of the solid-axle cars. I did notice after a while that all my friends who actually drove their 57s were slim and short …
