Re: Worth of a 68 BB 4spd Vette?

A good friend of mine owned a low mileage (about 50K) '68 4-speed 427 rag top for awhile, about 3-4 years ago. It was a nice example. We only had to fix a few minor things on it and he did a re-shoot of the original color. I didn't like the car at all from a driving standpoint. The 390 HP 4V version of the 427 was a slug IMO. My then still stock '95 LT1 could run circles around it. The handling was pathetic as were the brakes. It was more of a chore than a pleasure to drive. He sold it after owning it for maybe a year and netted a few thousand on it. But still, it didn't even bring $20K. I wouldn't have given 10% of that for it if I had to keep it and drive it.

To me, your early El Camino is a cooler, more unique and much more well built car than any C3. Finish that bitch and enjoy it. And to trade your ZR1 for this thing? No f'n way would I even consider it.
