I would bet that the opti was going south. I drove one and it was the same way. Soft as hell under power. But I suspect, as I did with a Goldstrand modified LT1 I drove, that DID have a bad opti (code H16) and that thing was not that strong.

You see, once the opti goes south, the computer starts retarding the timing. Retard the timing, and lose 20+ hp.

I would bet that a tune up and a new opti would fix that LT4 real quick.
