Wilcox and many of the other brands are not much better. The rubber is so hard it doesn't seal, or it's to short in certain places or the push pins are located incorrectly. Whereas the GM stuff fits perfect with no excuses and it seals.
Pool and spa lube works, as does dielctic grease. Just make sure you wipe it down so it doesn't smear all over the windows.
