Subject: Re: Sound deadening seems to be worthwhile by pianoguy on 2008/7/21 22:18:31 Now that I have a full commute under my belt, on a variety of surfaces, I'd have to say I'm quite pleased with the results. It made the car feel "newer", for lack of a better term. On one particularly nasty stretch of freeway that has a couple of frost-heaved joints, CRASH-RATTLE-SQUEAK was replaced by THUD with no drama. Besides isolating sound, I think a big part of what makes it work is that it seems to soak up a lot of the panel vibrations. When I crack it open again, I may add some to the doors, maybe try to fish in there and put some on the backside of the door skin. |
